Master is all white.
Hence 4-5 sets.

b o r i  n g.....

So, how about something exciting like a delish recipe??

Last week I stumbled upon a recipe over at The Perks
{she has a cute & fun blog, go see her, tell her I sent ya!}

Being the picky /healthy person I am,
I took out the foreign objects, doubled the buffalo sauce & made a
substitution with wheat flour....

I ended up with was some healthy, plain BUT delicious Buffalo Chicken Soup.
Thanks Katie for the recipe, girl!

I had to double the butter....possibly the wheat flour requires more?
Not sure....

GONE!!! I totally forgot to take a picture in the bowl :)
My mom & step father came over and we totally cleaned the bowl.
I will most def. double the recipe next time.
This is one of my newest favorite recipes,
it's delish & hot y'al!!

Buffalo Chicken Soup

1 tablespoons EVOO
1 can white corn, drained
1 can of creamed corn
2 to 3 large skinless, boneless chicken breasts, or 2 to 3 cups cooked, diced chicken
6 tablespoons (2/3 stick) smart balance  butter
1/4 cup whole wheat flour
3/4 cup organic chicken broth
2 cups fat free milk
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 cup Texas Pete Buffalo Wing Sauce {i ♥ it hot}
6 ounces Velveeta cheese, diced

Kaite did hers in the crock pot but I used my dutch oven.
i had to purchase 1 because i thought my life would end without it

-Add the creamed corn, white corn and tomatoes to the vegetables into dutch oven.

-Cut chicken into bite-size pieces. Heat 1-2 tablespoon oil in skillet & add chicken, stirring and cooking over medium-heat until browned in spots and opaque.
(If you’re using cooked chicken, skip this step and just add it to the vegetables in the slow cooker.)

-Mlet the butter in the skillet over medium heat until just foamy. Whisk in the flour to make a roux, stirring well to incorporate all the flour. Cook 1 to 2 minutes, until roux is slightly golden. Scrape the roux into dutch oven.

-Stir in the broth and milk. Add the garlic powder & wing sauce. Cover  & cook on low for about 45 min.  Stir every few min. as not to stick.

-Stir in the cubed Velveeta about 20 minutes before serving.

We added whole wheat flour tortilla chips into ours.....OH.MY.YUM!

The soup does sound great. I wrote it down with Katie posted it too.

  4. That recipe looks so good (I love anything "buffalo." Well, except REAL buffalo.). Perfect for a cold winter day. Doesn't Katie have the most amazing recipes? I've made quite a few! :)

I hope you have a great day. :)

  5. That receipe looks fabulous!

  6. I already copied & printed this recipe ~ my hubby will be thrilled! I am going to whip up a batch this weekend ~ Thank you for sharing!

  7. Hubs will love this recipe as he loves anything spicy! After all that's why he married me (or at least that's what I tell him!) Ha! Should've known your LC would be super tidy! Still lovin' the kiwi pot!

    Happy Tuesday, D!

  8. So, I totally messed up today. I was just about to post my HTT and realizaed I did the wrong one!! I kid my kid's bedrooms instead of the linen closet. Can you say stupid?? I guess I am prepared for next week..LOL! I am the same with the sheets, usually wash them and put them back the same day :)

  9. MMmmmm. Buffalo Chicken Soup! That sounds yummy. If I weren't snowed in, I would run out and buy the ingredients.

    Happy 18th Birthday! ;)

  10. Whaaaaaattttt!!!!! You're using my dutch oven? that's ok I guess, just clean it up before you ship it my way :)
38's not bad girl it's the 39 that's gonna kill me cause it's the impending doom of the 40 coming next! UGH! I just married someone younger so it kinda evens out....well in my delusional mind :D

  11. I saw Katie's recipe for the soup and want to try it! Maybe next week...this week is so busy : )

  12. Soup looks great...will have to try since I am home now so much with all this miserable weather plus we are major soup fans. Funny about the age thing, I remember buying wine and actually being asked for ID, about 4 years ago...sitll on a high from it. Amazing how something like that can make your day:) Thats vanity for ya.

  13. Wow, that sounds good! Thanks for stopping by today - have a great week!!

Happy (early) birthday too. 38 is YOUNG. :)

  14. that soup sounds soo good...now i want someone to make it for me!!!

  15. Love your simple linen closet :) Ours is filled with present bags, wrapping paper, tissue paper, diapers and wipes. Our linens are in drawers in the guest bedroom :)

    Soup sounds good!!

  16. all of my sheet sets are white too. i also only have white towels that we actually use. their are a few decorative ones that are colorful, but i am thinking about replacing them with white. so much easier to do laundry that way in my opinion.

thanks for giving us a little a little shout out about our contest. you're a sweetheart!

hope you have a wonderful day.

  17. Soup is in the crock. Smells delicious! Thanks for sharing.

  18. Wow.. this is perfect for all the snow days we have been having....xo HHL

  20. I am going to have to make this yummy soup! I LOVE Texas Pete and my sister is mildly obsessed with it-just sent her a link to her so she can make it too! If I didn't already have my meals planned for the week I would be making this tonight.

  21. Just re-read the post about the lady thinking you were your son's gf! TOOO funny!! I wish I looked as good as you do! :)
