Thirsty Thursday: INDULGE!

Hello, Flip Flop and Pearl friends! This is Jess from Pigtails and Bowties and Skinny B*tch!! I was elated when Daphne asked me to fill in for her while on vacation, and then I realized that it was payback for having her do the same for me while we were gone!! What goes around does come around. :) But even still, trying to fill the fabulous shoes (or flip flops) of our girl is not easy! She is so classy and witty and fashionable - I'm not sure how I fit into the equation!! ;)

After freaking out and having no idea what to write about, I decided to just write about the first topic that came to mind. Alcohol. We all know how hard we try to stay in shape and one of my biggest obstacles is drinking, so I thought I'd do a little research to figure out how I could fit a drink into my schedule every night now and then.

So, read on, my (new) friends and let me know what you think!

Of course, wine is great for you. It comes from a fruit!
Red AND white wine can:
protect the lining of your heart's blood vessels
prevent damage to blood vessels
discourage blood clotting
reduce bad cholesterol
decrease lung cancer risk
fight of Alzheimer's disease

control the growth of bacteria involved in tooth decay and sore throats

{Don't these look fun to drink?!}

Time to replace your morning glass of OJ with some whiskey! Why? It provides you with the same antioxidant benefits as the recommended intake of Vitamin C! Huh...who woulda thunk? Apparently, it can also help fight cancer...I wish I liked whiskey more! What a great reason to drink ;)

Brandy has the same benefits as whiskey, but the better the Brandy, the better the benefits! Go ahead and order that Louis XIII after dinner....just write off the $1,800 bill on your taxes as a medical expense!

Man, I love being Irish! We have excuses to drink stuff like Guinesss - a pint is about as effective as low-dose aspirin in preventing blood platelets from clotting and reducing the risk of a heart attack!

Beer has something called silicon, which can contribute to bone growth and development...should we be feeding beer to our youth?!?! Hoppy beers contain xanthohumol, which can inhibit the growth of tumors and the enzymes that activate cancer cells.

So, what are you waiting for?? Drink UP!!

{As always, drink responsibly and don't be a dummy...don't drink and drive!!!!}

Happy Thursday, y'all!! Let's hope Daphne is enjoying a few of these this week!!
